Hurricane Season Is About a Month Away—Will Your CPAP Work If the Power Goes Out?

Though the Atlantic hurricane season officially begins June 1 and runs through November, the first potential tropical storm was reported on April 20.  News 13 in Orlando covered the inclement weather, which was a system about 460 miles northeast of Puerto Rico.

According to the U.S. Census, the population and land area most at risk of hurricanes includes the coastal area from North Carolina to Texas. Approximately 36.8 million people lived in the coastal areas most threatened by Atlantic hurricanes as of April 1, 2010, and 179,015 square miles is the collective land area in of the hurricane threat zone. Read more about hurricane facts at the U.S. Census Bureau.

If you live in the areas most affected by hurricanes and use a CPAP, are you satisfied with your current device? Will it work if the power goes out due to a tropical storm?

The Transcend travel CPAP comes with an optional battery pack. This rechargeable battery pack will give you a full night of restorative sleep. It can be worn on your arm, placed under your pillow, or mounted on your bed’s headboard. But what is really cool about Transcend’s battery pack—especially for folks in hurricane storm areas—is that it can also be used for battery back-up should your power go out at home. No other CPAP does that.

Check it out! And, consider buying Transcend before hurricane season is upon us.
