Car Crash Leads to Power Outage in West Seattle; Sleep Apnea Patient Knows Because CPAP Stopped Working

The Seattle Post Intelligencer reported that most of West Seattle was without power after a “car-pole accident” occurred early Sunday morning. The accident happened early on January 9, 2011, and it took the local power utility company approximately 6-8 hours to restore power.

One blog comment on the West Seattle Blog: “My husband has sleep apnea so I knew right away the power was out when the cpac stopped working! I don’t remember our power ever going out and it is unfortunate a horrible car accident is the cause.”

With Transcend, a sleep apnea patient could sleep right through a power outage. How?

When the power fails, some CPAPs can leave you in the dark. Not Transcend. Its optional battery pack  keeps your device running even during a power outage. The battery pack can be worn on your arm, placed under your pillow, or mounted on your headboard. Plugged into AC power, the battery recharges and—should the power go out—acts as a batter backup so you continue sleeping.

Transcend gives you the peace of mind to sleep through the night, whatever the weather—or car-pole accidents—outside.
