This is very cool! The A.W.A.K.E. Network is composed of hundreds of mutual help support groups across the United States and Canada for people affected by sleep apnea. The acronym A.W.A.K.E. means “Alert, Well, And Keeping Energetic” and the groups meet regularly. The American Sleep Apnea Association and the A.W.A.K.E. Network have been partners since 1990. Often guest speakers are invited to address a group and topics may include advice on complying with sleep apnea therapy, legal issues, weight loss, new research finding, etc.
If you have sleep apnea, connecting with an A.W.A.K.E. group in your area is likely to provide you with peer support, education, and a better understanding of sleep apnea and your prescribed treatment. A.W.A.K.E. network members are also kept up-to-date about the latest developments in the sleep field.
